Iced Green Tea Recipe

Create a classic iced tea with a refreshing twist. A chilled green iced tea blend mixed with pomegranate seeds and an optional grapefruit essence.

  • 1 red grapefruit, peeled

  • 6 green teabags

  • 2–3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 pomegranates

  • 1 cup of ice cubes

Method

Prep:

For the iced green tea blend (makes 6 glasses)

  1. Bring 8 cups of water to simmer, then remove from heat.

  2. Add the green teabags.

  3. Let it steep for 3–4 minutes, until it’s just how you like it.

  4. Remove the teabags and let it cool down.

  5. Transfer to a pitcher, cover and refrigerate.

For the iced green tea essence (1 serving)

  1. Pop your grapefruit segments into a pestle and mortar.

  2. Add 2–3 tbsp of brown sugar and mix.

  3. Strain the juice (this is the essence).

  4. Refrigerate in a small container.

Make it:

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice.

  2. Add the iced green tea essence.

  3. Add a tbsp of fresh pomegranate seeds.

  4. Slowly pour in your chilled green iced tea blend and serve.

  5. Brrr-eezy.
