Pret & Pride

Pret & Pride

At Pret, we’re committed to creating a truly diverse and inclusive customer and employee experience and culture. Because it takes a lot of unique people to make the world an interesting place. Join us in showing your support this Pride month. Because it’s better all together.

What’s love got to do with it? Everything.

What’s love got to do with it? Everything.

This Pride month, we’re donating 50p from each sale of Pret’s lovely Love Bars to our LGBTQIA+ partner charities (akt and Pride in London’s unity fund), working to create real change in the lives of LGBTQIA+ communities.

Try one, you just might love it.

Helping to create safe homes and better futures for LGBTQIA+ young people experiencing homelessness or hostile living environments, akt’s work is essential for protecting and guiding young people in London, helping 16-25 year olds to stay safe in crisis, through advice, access to safe spaces, and connecting young people with mentors who care.

Fighting for visibility, unity and equality, Pride in London is committed to creating real change in and out of the community. With the UK’s biggest and most diverse pride event on its resume, it’s done incredible work raising awareness of LGBT+ issues and advocating for the freedoms that enable everyone to live their lives equally. Because everyone should be proud of who they are.

Where you belong.

Where you belong.

We want everyone to feel safe in the space they work, to find a place where they really belong, whether that’s in our shops or in our support centre, we welcome everyone. That’s why we started our Diversity Equity and Belonging (DEB) Forums in 2022, employee voice strengthening our DEB plans, and Pret Belonging Groups in May 2023, a range of employee groups that enable people to listen, celebrate and strengthen various communities.

Each group focusses on different employee cultures - from LGBTQIA+, to body and mind, with parents, carers, women in the workplace and multi-cultures in between. You don’t have to identify with a group to join, everyone’s welcome, all together.

On our team.

On our team.

Meet Terrell, one our favourite team members (they’re all our favourites really), he’s been with us for just over 9 months, and we think he’s great. So we asked him what he thinks this Pride.

‘I’m proud to say that I’m a part of the LGBTQ+ community and Pride has so many meanings to me, but one which resonates with me the most is the feeling of empowerment. To show up everyday as your true self and be proud in your own skin. Pret supports this, and are great at recruiting people who share the same core values and respect, which ultimately makes their journey, and the customers journey, a positive one. The aim is to make everyone feel comfortable and leave with a smile’.

Parade your pride.

Parade your pride.

Show your Pride with our range of parade posters and screen savers. Greater visibility, because everyone deserves a world that feels safe and inclusive.

Always learning.

Always learning.

Always looking to educate ourselves on diversity, equity and belonging, we’ve invited trans activist, and founder of Lightning Travel Recruitment, Chris King to speak to our teams this Pride month. Chris, whose pronouns are they/she, is an expert in inclusive hiring, and will be sharing their experience of being a trans, neurodiverse business leader. We’re very much looking forward to listening and learning more.
