Accessibility statement

Pret a Manger is committed to ensuring that digital services are inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Measures to support accessibility

We take the following measures to ensure accessibility of our digital services:

  • Include accessibility standards throughout our internal design and development guidelines

  • We consult people with a range of disabilities throughout the design and development of Pret's websites, apps and digital services

  • Accessibility standards are included as acceptance criteria through our quality assurance process

  • We continually review the usability of the website and digital service, and are making accessibility improvements as we learn

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. 

This website has been reviewed as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working towards full conformance of Level AA.

Where possible we have also applied Level AAA success criteria. 

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML

  • WAI-ARIA

  • CSS

  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure this website is accessible, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions.

  1. Multiple navigation paths: The primary menu is currently the only navigation option. We aim to give users more options to navigate the website so are implementing a sitemap and investigating options for a search feature.

  2. Increased zoom on smaller mobile devices in landscape orientation: When viewing the website in a landscape orientation, some areas of pages and navigation are visible. For example, the shopping bag in the order journey and primary menu. We are redesigning the areas affected.
